Bridge The Gap

Distant faces

Worlds apart

Far away futures

Way behind

Desert beaches

Busy streets

Space age costumes

That once shined

Awkward tongues

Beg understanding

Colourful language

Slicked back hair

Over the mountains

Simple people

Magic potions

Chemical scare

New beginnings

Wasted endings

Coca Cola

Revolving doors

Designer babies

Bad religions

Twisted cultures

Distant shores

State occasions

Corporations

Famine

Bombings

Sex on tap

Ethnic cleansing

Social networks

Turn off, tune out

Bridge the gap

Good Looking Devil

The shade in my reflection

Shows contours of my face

When studied they inform me of

Position within race

Distort interpretation

Bend light

And time

And space

That I may see the Devil

In the contours of my face

Jealousy

I stand spellbound with admiration for the rose which I hold in my hand

With its vibrant colour and enchanting sent

I realise I am unable to create such vibrancy and perfume

I slowly close my hand around its cold frail petals

And thrust it to the ground

The thorns break my skin

My blood is green

Contradiction

I like to sit and watch the flowers

You see flowers have seductive powers

Perfumes in Debenhams are made from flowers

And Alcohol

Alcohol also has powers

I can sit for hours watching the flowers

The hours I waste could be ours

I hate flowers

I need a drink

A Toast!

All is clear

As I see your vision's form

All is clear

As I hear your voice's form

All is clear

As I small your aroma's form

All is clear

As on my tongue your taste alone takes form

All is clear

As I feel you

In form

A toast!

To our future memories

Love In Vain

You taught me about peace and freedom

And how to believe in and see them

You taught me how to live

To live, to love and to give

But I cannot share this knowledge

With somebody who tries to bridge

Love that a drug may bear

And love that I seek to share

About

I set up Who'd of Thought It in 2010, as a blog and place to share and develop ideas.

It evolved into a small community and forum to post thoughts and canvass feedback, with me entertaining the notion of perhaps collaborating on and publishing some of the content to a wider audience. After gathering some initial traction (there are some novel concepts in the archive) other ventures took precedence.

'WoTI' now serves as a occasional pleasure, scrapbook of ideas and guest posts from those who dare. But never say never!

Enjoy. Chris Thompson
