Something for the weekend: PIAS Recordings #SFTW @piasuk

I've always believed in the power of music and the importance of independent repertoire to society as a whole.  I've been lucky enough to work on projects for some of the World's biggest acts and over the last two years work closely with Europe's largest independent music distributor.  In light of the fact that I'm leaving the music industry to ply my trade across a wider range of commercial sectors and in light of this weeks sickening riots across the UK, each week from now on I'll post a featured track and link to the catalogue (courtesy of PIAS) of one of the worlds most groundbreaking and influential record labels...

To kick off, with special thanks and best wishes to all the team at PIAS, here is PIAS Recordings:

About PIAS:

Spotify:  If you don't have it and it's available in your territory I suggest you get it.  It's free and will give you access to almost every commercially released recording there is (modest fee to get rid of the adds and enable offline play)!

I set up Who'd of Thought It in 2010, as a blog and place to share and develop ideas.

It evolved into a small community and forum to post thoughts and canvass feedback, with me entertaining the notion of perhaps collaborating on and publishing some of the content to a wider audience. After gathering some initial traction (there are some novel concepts in the archive) other ventures took precedence.

'WoTI' now serves as a occasional pleasure, scrapbook of ideas and guest posts from those who dare. But never say never!

Enjoy. Chris Thompson
