Is there anyone who is interested in getting together to workshop playback/forum/psychodrama. At present it would be just with a view to building skills, sharing ways of working and 'getting back into it'.

I have some experience of all the above forms but would really like to develop them.

I have tried to see if there are any exisiting groups in the Birmingham/Worcestershire area but as far as I can tell there are none.

I contacted Veronica Needa at the UK Playback, and she confirmed that there is no Playback group in this geographical area, however, she would be willing to come and train a group if one was formed. Hopefully this would happen after we had got to work together as a group for a little time.

Birmingham does have psychodrama and training is available.

I am interested in joining with others and just working together, at this point.

Would love to hear from anyone interested.

The current membership of WoTI is very disparate geographically but I'll keep this in the newsletter and try to inspire interest. Please update if you pull something together.

At this moment in time, i'd really like to just be doing some form of dramatic engagement with others. If it transpired that the group wanted to form a playback theatre group then it would be advantageous to meet at least once a fortnight to form the group.

Time and location may be an issue for many, but I think its important to start somewhere at some time.

Many thanks for your interest Chris. Apologies for late response.

Forgive my ignorance Helen. I wasn't familiar with Playback but just read:

Playback Theatre is spontaneous - it is theatre created through a unique collaboration between performers and audience. Someone tells a story or moment from their life, chooses actors to play the different roles then watches as their story is immediately recreated and given artistic shape and coherence.

What a frightening and inspiring concept! I'd love to try and help pull a group together and will have a think... My issue like everyone else's is time. 2 questions:

Would a quarterly Playback session be an appropriate target - more or less frequent?
How important is the geography to you?

I set up Who'd of Thought It in 2010, as a blog and place to share and develop ideas.

It evolved into a small community and forum to post thoughts and canvass feedback, with me entertaining the notion of perhaps collaborating on and publishing some of the content to a wider audience. After gathering some initial traction (there are some novel concepts in the archive) other ventures took precedence.

'WoTI' now serves as a occasional pleasure, scrapbook of ideas and guest posts from those who dare. But never say never!

Enjoy. Chris Thompson
